David Libman

Playwright

David Libman, a former teacher and social worker was born and raised in Brownsville/East New York, Brooklyn and now resides in Manhattan.


He has been the recipient of several grants for playwriting:

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA),

The New York Council for the Arts (CAPS), Edward Albee judge.

The Shubert Foundation and The John Golden Foundation.

4 time Finalist for the Eugene O'neill Foundation (4 different plays) 

His work has been presented at a number of venues in New York and elsewhere including the St. Clements Theater, Ensemble Studio Theater, Hunter College, The Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, The Stockbridge Festival and The Westport Playhouse.

Member of the Playwrights/Directors Unit at The Actors Studio.

Member of American Renaissance Theatre Co.

Member of the Dramatists Guild of America.

He is from the Old School and has dedicated his life to truthfully and artistically rendering all types of people who often are neglected, ignored, or worse.
